NNPC Top Shot, Bala Wunti’s Daughter Celebrates Wedding With Free Medical Outreach

Ahead of her wedding on Saturday, the daughter of a philanthropist and general manager at the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission, NNPC, Aisha Bala-Wunti, on Thursday organised a free medical outreach in Bauchi state.

Speaking during the opening ceremony of the exercise held at Reemee Clinic Bauchi, the bride-to-be pointed out that specialist doctors were hired from India to attend to the patients.

According to her, the medical outreach, which would last for two days, targets about 1, 000 patients suffering from various ailments.

Miss Wunti also said that she had also donated 10 wheelchairs to cripples that turned up for the program.

She revealed that the gesture stems from her compassion for the less-privileged.

“The gesture was aimed at expressing my gratitude to God for the abundant blessings he bestowed on me and it is part of activities celebrating my wedding,” she noted.

In his remarks, father of the bride-to-be and G-M of NNPC, Bala Wunti commended his daughter for showing sympathy to the downtrodden.

Mr Wunti, while urging her to keep it up even after marriage, promised to construct a community hospital and primary school at the wunti community.

Speaking with newsmen, the Team leader of the doctors, Simon Hercules, a neurosurgeon, said competent physicians and specialists were brought by the team for the exercise.
