Leadership is by no means an easy task, as servitude is a very daunting, yet, fulfilling stride. Grassroots is the heartbeat of governance, where leaders are to be held accountable for their stewardship.
The sufferings and pleasures in any rural city or town, are immediately felt by those they affect the most. We always tend to expect the government to set the pace and many atimes, expect too much from the top.
Some of us beg to differ, inclusive governance in your immediate environment is paramount.
Perhaps , there would have been less barbaric killings, less inherited empty treasuries, proper dispensation of justice and equity, less numbers of wasted youths, less crime rates, less cliche, more street children enrolled in schools, less forced marriages and human trafficking, if ‘inclusion‘ was the watch word.
IGR, security, peace and prosperity are garnered by the locals in their comity of wards.
Again, inferring to grass root politics.
Like they say ‘ The grass is greener from the outside ‘ and ‘only a person wearing the shoes knows where it pinches‘’
Some people have advocated true federalism. Some have advocated investment in human capital and resources, some have advocated bipartisanship, while some others have advocated partisanship.
But, we as ‘mere mortals’ should be more concerned on ‘need specific’ leadership style on principle in our immediate environments and not misplaced priorities.
Tribalism is a disease and an eyesore –
We choose to lead by example
Bottle necks in partisanship in any nation state hinders the progress and sustainability of basic amenities: health, education, empowerment, infrastructure, livelihood and sanity of the people.
No chief executive in his right frame of mind should compromise peaceful co-existence and fairness in his governance where the led shall then be subjected to doom.
Politics should not be a war or impetus for verbal disorderliness, not to say there should be infringements of rights.
As the people of Sokoto state decide their fate for the benefits of their being, we pray for God’s guidance and wisdom; and for the state to reach its full potentials under the fair leadership of the incumbent governor, as he returns to PDP
Alas, social media, being a double-edged sword in the last few months, has given room to the minority on one edge of the sword to speculate, reign abuses, conclude and smear while on the other edge, some have prayed, constructively critiqued, applauded and more.
Folks, at the end of the day, it must be ‘ME’ first above protest votes, mob mentality and propaganda .
May peace, prosperity and success reign in our states and country at large, Amen. And may God guide our amiable governor, The Rt Honourable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Mutawalle CFR, to fulfill his promises to the people of the state and also his contributions to the national stage for the good of us all.
We can rise above godfatherism, those who have stolen our past, subtly stealing our future and ever ready to steal our futures. Let’s keep advocating mentorship, role models and enabling environments to thrive.
We must shun some of the wicked elites who thrive by nursing discord at every level of governments, at the expense of the wellbeing of their people. And largely on the grass root levels.
