Working behind the scenes over the years, Lucky Okorode has carved many a face with smiles with his witty productions. Add to his reputation as a top-notch, much sought-after Master of Ceremonies.  And as host of Laffta Current: The Exploits, an engaging stand-up comedy series which began in Ifako-Ijaiye local government area, his performance was superlative. Yet Okorode, chairman of Great JP Entertainment, who is popularly called MC JP, readily admits that every stage in life requires massive improvement. And he seems to be applying that dictum to his career in Nigeria’s dynamic entertainment industry. His upcoming project is the fourth edition of Laffta Current, tagged Jokes You’ve Never Heard, which, he assures, will be a unique family event featuring music, drama and, as the headline promises, never-been-heard jokes from a host of top and rising entertainers. If his three earlier outings as guide on Exploits are any measure to go by, his fans are in for a hilarious time.

Identifying funding and personnel management as major challenges being faced by most entertainers, the Delta-born comedian invited corporate and brand sponsorship to make the event highly successful. “Getting corporate or brand sponsorship can be challenging when you don’t have a personal relationship with someone in charge… There are lots of angles we can improve on with their support and everyone will definitely be happy in the end. So I am officially announcing that Great JP Entertainment is open to all kinds of support so we can achieve the golden aim, which is to entertain countless families.”  

The event is billed for Sunday 21st of October at the PrimRose Events Centre, Akilo road, Ikeja, Lagos.
