Oyo State Governorship aspirants increase on daily as Senator Olufemi Lanlehin of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, obtained expression of intent and nomination forms to contest 2019 governorship election.
Lanlehin, who was confident of winning the next governorship election in the state assured the people that he would be committed to people’s oriented programmes if elected.
He also promised to run a compassionate and caring government as governor from 2019.
According to him, “Our party is pro-people and the welfare of the people is our major concern. The handshake in the logo of the party symbolises mutual cooperation, and particularly, with the pitiable state that the current government has taken governance to in the state, our people are willing, able and ready to change this change.
“I have the passion to deliver service to the people of Oyo State. I have lived in the state all my life and I experienced a good life growing up in the state. But gradually, things have been changing gradually and getting from bad to worse. In Oyo State today, we don’t deserve to be where we are. We could do much better, particularly now, things are even worse.
“In 2011 when I wanted to run for the governorship of the state, the circumstances then are now worse. I have what it takes to governor the state because I have the education, knowledge, experience and above all the passion to take the state out of the doldrums.”
Lanlehin, a lawyer by profession, was a former Special Adviser in Lagos State as well as Senator under under Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.
