The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, (CP) Mr Fatai Owoseni, has appointed DSP Patricia Amadin as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command.
Amadin, who is occupying the position in acting capacity, replaces DSP Kenneth Nwosu, who has been redeployed to force headquarters, Abuja.
Nwosu presented the new spokesperson to reporters on Monday in Lagos.
He commended Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria members for the support given him during his six months tenure, urging them to extend same to the new spokesperson.
The outgoing spokesperson said his successor was his course mate in police academy.
Nwosu apologised to those he might have offended in the course of duty, saying that such action was not deliberate.
Responding, Amadin said her new office was a familiar terrain, as she had once worked as Deputy Police PRO in Lagos.
Amadin said she still observed the friendliness between the command and journalists assigned to cover its activities, calling for more cooperation.
“My calling as PPRO, Lagos command is to serve to promote the image of the command.
“I call on all journalists for assistance to enable me succeed.
“Journalists should endeavour to always confirm their stories with me to avoid ambiguity,’’ Amadin said.
Amadin them called for a minute silence for late Jude Isiguzo, a member with the Nation Newspaper who died in Nov. 2014, during a brief illness.
