The wife of the Senate President and former Kwara First Lady, Mrs Toyin Saraki has expressed her readiness to honour the invitation for a chat, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Mrs Saraki who was out of the country when the EFCC invitation arrived, according to sources, returned last weekend and has expressed her willingness to help the anti-graft agency.
Insiders disclosed that Mrs. Saraki was surprised that the EFCC was inviting her for a chat but as a law-abiding citizen, she is willing to submit herself to answer any queries by the EFCC.
It will be recalled that many APC bigwigs have argued that her invitation is not unconnected with the current National Assembly crises where her husband, Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki and House Speaker, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara emerged against the wishes of their party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The story making the rounds was further corroborated by an APC member, former Senator Joseph Waku who alleged that the EFCC invitation was the handiwork of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
However, the PDP Kwara State Chapter claims it actually sent the petition. In a statement by its spokesperson, Rex Olawoye, said “It has become imperative to inform the members of the public that we have every reason to believe that a petition recently submitted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kwara state chapter is largely responsible for the invitation of Mrs. Toyin Saraki.
Mrs. Saraki, our sources revealed, is billed to make herself available on or before Wednesday July 29th.
