General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye on Monday paid a visit to the senior pastor of Fountain of Life Church Taiwo Odukoya over the death of the latter’s wife Nomthi.
Nomthi died at the age of 47 after a two-year battle with cancer.
Adeboye, who signed the condolence register during his visit to Odukoya, said in an Instagram post that the Christian community should draw comfort from the fact that Nomthi served God.
“We are deeply comforted in the fact that Pastor (Mrs) Nomthi Odukoya knew, loved and served the Lord with such fervency. And so we rejoice that she is in heaven; a place where there is eternal peace and rest,” he wrote.
Adeboye also prayed for strength for Odukoya and the family to bear the loss.
Nomthi is the second wife Odukoya would be losing to death after his first Bimbo died in a plane crash in 2005.
“Indeed, God is unquestionable. My prayer is that The Almighty God continues to strengthen the Odukoya family and grant them the grace needed for this period,” Adeboye added.
“I pray for God’s divine protection over Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, the children, and the Fountain of Life ministry. In JESUS’ name. Amen!”
Despite the tragic incident, Odukoya led worship at his church in the Ilupeju area of Lagos on Sunday.
His son Jimmy Odukoya took to Instagram to shower praises on his father for his strength in times of adversity.
“The battles he has fought would break a lesser man, I am fully persuaded that the very breath of God flows through him and that is what continues to strengthen him,” he wrote.
Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church Worldwide had on Wednesday, November 10 visited Odukoya. He was accompanied by his wife Faith, his deputy Bishop David Abioye and Pastor Sam Olubiyo.
