The Nigerian Army has announced the death of Shera Kyau Agwai, mother of ex-Chief of Defence Staff, Martin Luther Agwai. Former Chief of Defence Staff, Martin Luther Agwai Mrs. Agwai died on Monday, aged 96. According to the Army, the nonagenarian died after a brief illness at Saint Gerald Hospital in Kaduna, her home state. Army spokesman, Col. Sani Usman, said details of the burial were yet to be announced by the family. Agwai was Chief of Defence Staff from June 2006 to May 2007 and is currently the Chairman, Kaduna State security committee set up in 2015 by Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
