The Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Adeniyi Sonariwo, is dead.
The foremost traditional ruler, available information reaching The Eagle Online died in the United Kingdom on Saturday.
Sources told The Eagle Online that Oba Sonariwo had travelled out of the country to the United Kingdom for medical check-up.
“Unfortunately, he did not make it back,” one of the sources told The Eagle Online.
This year makes it the 26th Oba Sonariwo would be spending on the throne.
He had at a time said his ambition was not to become a traditional ruler but the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Ola Sonariwo was born in Ita Eleye in Lagos State in 1936.
He attended St. John School, Aroloya, Lagos from 1941 to 1949.
He also attended Methodist Boys High School from 1950 till 1955.
He then went on to become an Accountant.
His dad died in 1942 when he was six years old, while his mother passed on earlier.
