THE Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, former Oyo and Osun states governorship aspirants, Senator Rasheed Ladoja and Senator Iyiola Omisore were among the dignitaries present at the funeral of late Senator Teslim Folarin’s mother, Alhaja Sidikat Abebi Folarin.

Alhaja Sidikat Folarin, 98, who passed on to the world beyond last Thursday, was laid to rest Friday, according to Islamic rites.

The Olubadan of Ibadan, represented by Chief Lekan Balogun, advised the Folarins to remain strong and sustain the enduring legacy of their mother. Another representative of the monarch, Chief (Mrs) Abosede Abiodun, also admonished the children to love themselves and avoid division.

While leading the prayers at the event, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Agbotomokekere, said that “death is inevitable”, he therefore implored people present to make an impact in the world while they can. Senator Folarin is sad, but his mother is happy as she has gone to rest.”

Former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, accompanied by his wife, Chief (Mrs) Mutiat Olayinka Ladoja, described the late matriarch as a virtuous, loving and compassionate woman.

Dignitaries present at the event include: Seriki Adinni Musulumi of Yoruba land, Alhaji Yekini Adeojo, former deputy governor of Oyo State, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Atilola Maroof.

Others are Senator Femi Lanlehin, Senator Ayo Adeseun, Senator Gbenga Babalola, Chief Akin Oke, Alhaji Abass Oloko, the Mogaji of Ajimobi’s clan, Wasiu Ajimobi among others.
