House Clerk Slumps, Dies On NASS’ Staircase

A clerk in the House of Representatives, Mohammed Shuaibu, yesterday slumped and died at the National Assembly complex, Abuja.

Shuaibu, who was 55 years old, was the clerk of the House Committee on Agricultural Production and Services.

He reportedly slumped  on a staircase at  New Wing of the House around 12 noon and was rushed to the National Assembly clinic, where he was certified dead.

Chairman of the committee, Hon Mohammed Tahir Monguno, confirmed the development.

The late clerk, an indigene of Zaria in Kaduna State, returned  from his hometown on Sunday evening, after visiting his family.

His remains have been taken to Zaria for burial according to Islamic rites.

The late clerk was deployed to the committee about a year ago from the committee on IDPs, refugees and Northeast initiatives
