Madagascan Ahmad Ahmad has emerged the new president of Confederation of African Football (CAF) after defeating the incumbent Issa Hayatou in Thursday’s election in Addis –Ababa, Ethiopia.

Ahmad polled 34 votes, while Hayatou garnered 20 in the keenly contested election.
