The Ekiti State University has bestowed an award of Doctor of Public Administration (Honoris causa) on the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Rural Development, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu during the University’s 22nd Convocation Ceremonies on 1st April, 2017 as a mark of honour for the various developmental strides the honourable has been championing since his election to the National Assembly.
A letter signed by Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. S. O. Bandele reads in parts:
“The Governing Council and the Senate of the University considered your significant positive impacts and immense contributions to the development of humanity and the nation, and therefore, found your revered self eminently qualified for the award.”
Honourable Adebutu attended the prestigious Igbobi College, Lagos where he obtained his West African School Certificate and later studied at the St. Columbus College, Rathfarnham, Dublin where he obtained the Irish School Leaving Certificate; he equally attended the National Institute of Higher Education, Limerick, Republic of Ireland and the Regional Technical College, Athlone and Carlow in the Republic of Ireland where he studied Analytical Chemistry. He did his compulsory National Youth Service in Borno State.
Recall that Hon. Ladi Adebutu was also recently inducted into University of Ibadan’s Sultan Bello Hall of Fame for his numerous philantrophic gestures, reads a statement from his media office.
