NBA Conference: Clerics Charge Lawyers Not To Sacrifice Morality For Money

As the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA 2017 conference kick-off Monday, Christian and Muslim clerics have charged lawyers in the country not to sacrifice morality in the quest of getting money.

Prayers were offered for lawyers taking part in the conference.

While fidau prayers for the conference was conducted for the lawyers on Friday at the Central Mosque, Lagos Island, Christian prayers was offered on Sunday at the Cathedral Church of Christ Marina.

NBA Chairman, Abubakar Mahmoud, Chairman local organising committee, Lawal Pedro, SAN and other top Muslim members of the association attended the Muslim prayer service, while 2nd Vice-President, Monday Ubani on Sunday led Christian members of the association to the church service.

At the church service on Sunday, Reverend Sunday Ogundipe admonished all parishioners including the NBA members not to abandon their fate for the things of the world.

Revd Ogundipe stated that more Christians were succumbing to secularism, noting that all Christians must stand up for their fate.

On his part, Islamic cleric, Shakiru Gafar admonished NBA members who attended the fidau prayer on Friday not to abandon morality in the pursuit of the profession.

Gafar noted that lawyers were the voice of the voiceless and must not jettison that responsibility for mundane things.
