The President of the Club, Mr Tajudeen Akande gave the commendation when the club paid a courtesy visit to the Governor in his office, at Government Secretariat, Osogbo.

He noted that the tremendous change through critical infrastructural development brought about by the present administration in Osun has in no doubt attracted national and international attentions.

Akande lauded the efforts of the Aregbesola led administration at turning around the socio-economic fortunes of the state, making Osun one of the recognised states in Nigeria in terms of infrastructure development and improved living standard of the citizenry.

While commending t‎he state’s six-point integral action plan, Akande asserted that the policy adopted by Governor Aregbesola has not only redefined Osun but set a good path for her socio-economic prosperity.

According to him, the pace of development and transformation witnessed by the people of Osun in the last six years of Governor Aregbesola’s government was in no doubt a reference point to good governance and responsible leadership.

“The kind of transformation brought about by the present administration in Osun has in no doubt attracted and still attracting national and international attentions as most of the state’s projects could compete favourably in the world and as well stand the test of time.

“As an elitist group, we have ‎painstakingly followed the trajectory of Governor Aregbesola’s political exploits right from Lagos, when he was the Commissioner for Works, as his reign brought tremendous changes to critical infrastructure in the state.

“Osun Six-Point ‎Integral Action Plan which include: Banishing Poverty, Banishing Hunger, Restore Healthy Living, Promote Functional Education, Creation of Wealth, Creation of Employment among others are evidently designed and well documented to enhance standard of living of the citizenry and as well make life more abundant and prosperous for Osun residents.

“With this visit to Osun, we have taken our precious times to go to some of the projects executed and those under construction and we are left with no doubt that God had used Aregbesola to build a new Osun”, he added.
Speaking on the role of the Club to human development, Akande said “As a foremost Club of over 12,000-strong members and by the way the one and only country club in Nigeria, sited in the heart of Lagos, we have a critical elitist population that have contributed immensely to the diverse sectors of the economy.

“Lagos Country Club was founded in 1949 and aimed to promote recreational and social interests of members, advancement of family values and promote inter-ethnic and inter-racial understanding among people.

In his remarks, the Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola said his administration was committed ‎to both human and capital development with the sole aim of making life more abundant, prosperous and worthy of living for the people of the state.

He said despite the current economic situation in the country and Osun in particular, his administration has never deterred from its commitment to rejuvenate the economy of the state and as well set Osun on the path of prosperity in all aspects of life.

“Our determination to government and governance therefore is to ensure that Africa and black people regain their positions in the world and this could only be realized with ‎extreme commitment to good governance and passion to advance our standard of living as a continent.

“It is time for us to take off our minds on the so-called monolithic economy and dwell tremendously on policies that could fast track diversification to other sectors.

“Nigeria must not fail. Africa must not fail and the sure path to this goal is for us to be more productive in all we do as a nation. It is time for us to be self-recovery, self-motivated, self-reliant, self-dependent and self-sustained as we walk out of recession, poverty, hunger and unemployment and other
