Hajiya Fanta Mohammed, the younger sister of the late Head of State Sani Abacha has died aged 75.
She died after a brief illness at an Abuja hospital.
Family sources said he would be buried in Kano on Sunday.
The deceased was the mother of Basheer Mohammed, the current Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons.
President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed condolences over her passage, saying she was a compassionate woman who cared for the less-privileged.
A statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by Garba Shehu, spokesman for the president, said Buhari sympathized with the Abacha family, Mohammed and his siblings as well as the people of Kano State.
He noted that Hajia Fanta devoted her time on earth to caring for the less-privileged and godly upbringing of her children.
Buhari prayed that Allah will console all those who mourn and grant Hajiya Fanta Aljannatul Firdaus.
