Roland Adesina, the father of Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank, is dead.

The former minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, made the announcement of Twitter.

He posted a picture of him posing with his late father.

Adesina wrote: My darling father and best friend, Roland F. Adesina, passed away yesterday morning. I wouldn’t have been who I am today without your love and sacrifice.

“Thanks for sending me to school and being a role model. Rest in peace my very dear senior Ombros!”

Adesina won the 2017 World Food Prize Laureate.
