President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Akinwumi Adesina and British-Nigerian journalist, broadcaster and communications strategist, Victor Oladokun, recently celebrated 46 years of friendship.
The duo began celebrating each when Adesina, 63, penned touching words to mark Oladokun’s 65th birthday.
He tweeted an old picture taken with Oladokun during his (Adesina’s) university days.
“I rejoice today with my very dear friend Dr. Victor Oladokun as you turn 65 today! My friend for life! May God bless you with much joy, great health, and all bountifulness. Happy birthday bro!” Adesina said.
Oladokun, known for hosting the Christian show ‘Turning Point’, replied, “Many many thanks for your kind Birthday wishes and for 46 years of amazing friendship. What a journey!”
Also, Oladokun posted photos of his longtime friendship with Nigeria’s former minister of agriculture and rural development.
“To my dear brother and best friend Akin Adesina. Many thanks for your exceptionally kind and gracious birthday greetings and prayers,” said Oladokun.
“It’s pretty amazing what has transpired in 46 years of unbroken friendship. A big Amen to your kind prayers on my behalf. Much love always!”
In 2017, Adesina had appointed Oladokun as Director of Communication and External Relations at AFDB. He credited him with restructuring the institution’s communication team and strategically raising the profile of the bank, its operations and development impact. Oladokun retired from the Bank on March 31, 2020.
