Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Americanah and the late Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart have made the 2018 list of favourite books of the immediate past president of the United States of America, Barack Obama.

The 44th US president released a list of his favourite books, movies and songs of 2018 on Friday on his official Facebook page.

Americanah ranked third on Mr Obama’s list behind An American Marriage by Tayari Jones and his number one best of 2018, Becoming written by his wife Michelle Obama.

Things Fall Apart came 15th on the list.

Blockbuster movie Black Panther released early in 2018 took second place in Obama’s list of favourite movies of the year.
