A former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, yesterday pleaded with the aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in the state to sheathe their swords and join hands to ensure victory for the party in the November 18 election.
He said he would not stop his reconciliatory moves until peace finally returned to the party.
About four of the aspirants were said to have expressed displeasure over the emergence of Mr. Oseloka Obaze as candidate of the party at the recent primary of the party.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting of the party in Awka with the caretaker committee chairman, Prof ABC Nwosu, and the secretary, Chief Josephine Anenih, in attendance, Obi said he was battle ready to secure the seat of government in Anambra for PDP.
The chairman of the PDP caretaker committee in the state, Prof ABC Nwosu, said he took over the position to win the election for the party.
Meanwhile, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party has pruned down the 36 member state executive committee of the party to 10.
