Binta Masi Garba, the senator representing Adamawa North senatorial district in the National Assembly, has failed in her bid to return to the Senate.
Mrs Garba of the All Progressives Congress, APC, polled 63,219 votes, as against Ishaku Cliff of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who polled 78,337 votes during the Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections.
However, another Adamawa female politician, Aisha Dahiru (Binani), won her seat in Adamawa Central Senatorial District election.
Binani, the APC candidate for the election, polled 188,526 votes, as against Murtala Chubado Modibbo of the PDP who scored 96,530 votes, according to results announced by the returning officer, Prof. Baba Bukar Jakusko.
The southern zone senatorial district result is yet to be collated.
