Former Military Administrator of Ekiti and Gombe States, Col. Mohammed Inuwa Bawa (rtd) has died at the age of 67.
The late Bawa, a one-time intelligence officer and governorship aspirant in his home state of Kebbi, died at 4:30 am yesterday due to complications from a surgery he had last Friday in Jos, Plateau State.
Our correspondent who visited his home in Rayfield learnt from a gathering of sympathisers who gathered there that the Jos-based politician fell ill about two weeks ago.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Barrister Aliyu Musa Yawuri, cousin of the deceased said the late Bawa had suffered from typhoid which affected his intestine and warranted surgery.
Yawuri said the deceased had died at FOMAS hospital at Millionaires Quarters in Jos and is survived by one wife and eight children.
He described the late Inuwa Bawa as a man of peace who preached unity which showed in his love and commitment to his family too.
