Go To London And Defend Diezani, Group Challenges PDP

imageThe Buhari Media Support Group (BMSG), an organization dedicated to promoting President Muhammadu Buhari’s agenda for change, has challenged the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to appoint a formidable legal team to head to London and defend former Petroleum Minister, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, who is currently facing corruption investigation in the UK, preparatory to formal trial.

A press statement issued in Abuja by the organization reminded the PDP of its previous allegations that the anti-corruption war is a political witch hunt against political opponents, wondering why the opposition PDP is yet to accuse the UK police of witch hunt for daring to investigate Mrs Alison-Madueke.

The statement noted that President Buhari could not have told the British police how to do their job, or dictated to them to arrest innocent people and charge them to court merely because they were part of the unseated PDP government.

Recalling that the PDP has repeatedly sought to discredit the anti-corruption crusade of the Buhari administration, the support group explained that the President would never pick up or pencil down anybody for investigation or trial when there is no evidence to link them to wrong doing.

It explained that, as a man who is conscious of his integrity, President Buhari would be the last person to link innocent people to crimes they didn’t commit.

The Buhari Media Support Group expressed surprise why the PDP leaders abandoned Alison-Madueke to her fate in London, despite her loyalty to the party and illegally funding the erstwhile ruling party with state resources while she was in government.

It therefore advised the PDP to stop belittling and disparaging the anti-corruption war through unhelpful allegations that President Buhari is using the crusade to witch hunt his political opponents.

It added further that the consequences of corruption harm the larger society, regardless of whether they are APC or PDP supporter.

The BMSG urges PDP to freeze the billions of Naira handed in by the former Minister of Petroleum Resources to the party as oil sector contributions preparatory to the last election until a full certification is obtained on the legality of its sources. This will prove whether the PDP is toeing the line of the anti-corruption war of the Buhari administration as it is claiming.

The support group also advised the PDP leaders to sincerely and patriotically join hands with the federal government to make Nigeria better.
