Hajia Maryam Mairo Tambuwal Attends Roundtable On Women, Peace and Security Network (PHOTOS)

The Wife of the Sokoto State Governor and founder of MMAWT legacy initiative, Hajiya Maryam Mairo Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, today attended a Roundtable and training exercise on Women peace and security , United Kingdoms roadmap for Nigeria !

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office Special Envoy for Gender Equality, Ms. Joanna Roper had in the past given the brief on the road map and how it can be a great institutional resource for developing communities and bodies .

The event was graced by:
Her Royal Highness Obi Martha Dunkwu Omu- Anioma of Delta State, Director General women development centre Barrister Mary Ekpe, Katrina Aitken-Laird the UK security advicer to British Council, Hajiya Halima Nagado , Executive director MMAWT LI ,
Major Ian Robertson British Military Advisory and training team, Laura Aumeer, Assistant Manager to Coffey (training and placing program) , 16 WPSN state representatives across Nigeria and
Dr Eleanor of British council as Programme Co-ordinator and Anchor .

The vision and implementation of such road maps remains to be of immense benefits to Development Partners , State Governments , Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Faith Based Organizations (FBOs), and all other relevant Stakeholders engaged in Peace, Security and Governance, Elections, and Humanitarian organizations .

The Wife of the Governor , Hajiya Mairo Tambuwal was amongst the speakers and paper presentation on domestic appropriate approach whilst Her Royal highness gave a motivational talk on how she broke the glass ceiling to be the Obi of Anioma in Delta state amongst others .

The event began by the wellcome address and objectives delivered by Katrina Aitken-Laird ,
Presentation on assessment of police gender policy of the 16states of the WPSN , NAP, ZAP/SAP/LAP, Ecowas and UN women .

Reports on current status was reviewed and remained the highlight of the event !

3 Brain storming groups were created , best practice, election and monitoring.
Results from these sessions would be forwarded to the united nation!

The event which was a 2 days exercise was concluded by Plenary declaration and commitment on the next steps and closed by Administrative formalities including group photographs .

In a bid to continuously compliment the efforts of good governance in the state , we shall update on the marshaled all inclusive strategies to reach the nooks and crannies across the state for further inputs to the drafts and implementation plan of action .
