I was pleased to be in attendance at the wedding of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to Comrade Iara Fortes today at Oshiomhole’s country home, Iyamho Etsako West Local Government Edo State. A wide range of Nigerian dignitaries cutting across political and the diverse sectors of our society graced the occasion.

I have had the opportunity to host both Governor Oshiomhole and the then Miss Iara Fortes in my homes in Benin City and Abuja several times during their courtship and in all occasions I have found the young and pretty lady very amiable and exquisite in behavior. The Comrade Governor who lost his wife to Cancer some five years ago virtually in his first year in office would no doubt cherish the companionship of this beauty Queen at this juncture of his life.

The event today presented an opportunity for many distinguished and well meaning Nigerians to freely, joyfully and merrily interact across political party lines. The sole purpose of the meeting was no other than to honor the very special bride and bridegroom.
On my part I wish them both good health, peace and unfettered happiness in their future life together.
