Incontrovertible Verdict: Lagos Emerges Best Performing State

imageTHE Centre for International Advanced and Professional Studies, CIAPS, has declared Lagos State as the best performing state just as it called on state governors to improve on projects that aim to impact the lives of people. CIAPS Director of Studies, Prof. Anthony Kila, who announced the results at a press conference in Lagos, said Lagos State came first with 74 per cent, while Edo and Cross River states took second and third positions respectively with 70 and 65 percent. Promising to be objective in its review performance of states governments in the country, Professor Kila said CIAPS Governors’ Performance Index, CGPI, “is a useful tool for democracy and good governance as it allows governments to be objectively measured against their peers and compels all in power to be mindful of accountability.” He explained that the performance index is a monthly performance review of state governors across the country, noting that “if we allow states to see what other states are doing, it will create healthy competition and make the governors accountable to the people.” 32 0 3 0
