KSA, Ayo Balogun, Pasuma, Bola Are, Others For Baba Sala Mega Concert

Towards the funeral rites of the icon, Moses Olaiya Adejumo aka Baba Sala, a mega tribute concert to celebrate the icon holds next Thursday, November 29, 2018.

In a press parley held midweek at the boardroom of Radio Lagos 107.5 Fm, the convener, Dr Oyindamola Adejumo-Ayibiowu noted that the Babasala Tribute Concert was aimed at extolling the essence of the dramatist and pioneer of comedy in Nigeria as his funeral rites beckons.

Babasala’s daughter, Oyindamola who was accompanied by the juju maestro, Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye aka King Sunny Ade, President of Association of Juju Musician AJUM,

 Queen Ayo Balogun, Admiral Dele Abiodun and Olanrewaju Adejumo aka Babasala Jnr were at the radio station to give hype to the planned mega concert which hold at the popular Blue Roof , LTV 8 Ground in Ikeja, Lagos.

Speaking at the media brief, Sunny Ade who is the Chief hosts, said, “Babasala Tribute concert is a celebration of my father who gave me the platform to become who I am today. I got my first instrument through someone Babasala introduced to me”.

SA who wears the hat of the Chairman burial commitee reeled out the program of the funeral rites: The Mega Tribute Concert holds on Thursday, November 29 at LTV 8 Ground. Before then, A Symposium on Babasala holds November 28. Babasala Lying-in-state hold at National Arts on December 3rd, His Body proceeds to Ibadan Cultural Centre on December 4. Osogbo, the capital city of Osun State hosts Babasala as the Service of Songs hold at Idasa, ilesha in Osun State on December 5 after which the Wake Keeping holds as well as Artistes Night organised by Osun music industry.

On December 7th, 2018, the final Burial ceremony holds and crowns the program.

Babasala died on October 7, 2018 after enduring a post stroke ordeal.

Speaking on her father’s relevance, Dr Ayibiowu stated, “Babasala created opportunity for government to make money. I want people to see beyond Babasala as a man that made people laugh. Entertainment is creating an economy non-oil revenue. This is because my father, Babasala who is passionate about the arts went all the way to stage shows, produce movies and comedy and many are enjoying the fruit of his labour”.
