The planned return to music of Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde appears to have suffered setback as Nigerians mocked her on social media over her decision.
Omotola, 42, had been singing at the early stage of her career but abandoned music due to discouragement from friends.
But she told TheNEWS, in an interview that she regretted not pursuing her music career back then and vowed to relaunch herself back to music.
She also wrote on her Instagram page about her planned comeback.
She wrote: “Yasss! I’m back! I feel so Alive. When I told you Post Covid I’m doing all I’ve wanted to do, some thought I was just motivating! I’m back to My Music! And this second time around No gates of Hell shall prevail.
“My Music is Now on ALL STREAMING PLATFORMS. Apple, Spotify, Tidal , Shazam, İnstagram stories …. All. Please take sometime to listen and download to your playlist . I’m 42 , restarting My First Love ! Why the Hell Not! What are you waiting for?”
Omotola’s resolve to stage a comeback is being mocked by Nigerians on twitter.
A twitter user, who called himself Mr. Bitches simply said, “After watching this video I’m really bothered about Omotola’s return it might be a national disaster.”
A twitter user by the name, Professional Beggar said “Tonto dike sounds like a tiger generator but I still prefer her music to that of Omotola… It’s been 17yrs and I’m still trying to understand what Omotola was saying.
“Maybe Omotola is coming back to music as a video vixen; maybe that’s what she meant. I mean imagine this shot on Davido’s newest jam.”
