ALL roads led to the ancient town of Owo in Ondo State, on Saturday, 14 September, where Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu gave out his daughter, Teniola’s hand in marriage. She got married to Olatunde Oyeyilola.
The occasion had in attendance, dignitaries from all walks of life including the National Leader of the All Progressives congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former Osun state governor, Chief Bisi Akande, Governors Dr. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state, Gboyega Oyetola of Osun state, former governor of Ogun State and serving senator, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and his Oyo State counterpart, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
Others who attended the traditional wedding were; the Minister of Trade and Inveatment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, the Minister of State Labour and Employment, Senator Tayo Alasoadura, Minister of State for Health, Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora, the wives of the governors of Edo, Betsy Obaseki; Lagos, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu and Nasarawa State, Hajia Silifat A. A Sule.
Others were the former Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, former governor of Adamawa, Bala James Ngilari, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Egunwusi Eniola Ojaja II, Chairman Ondo State Council of Obas, the Olugbo of Ugbo, Oba Frederick Akinruntan and the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye.
The event was also witnessed by others eminent dignitaries like; Dr Wale Babalakin; Chief Niyi Akintola, SAN, Yusuf Alli, SAN, Virtually the Honourable Justices of the Ondo State Judiciary led by Chief Judge ,Honourable Justice Olutoyin Akeredolu and the President of the Industrial Court , Hon Justice Babatunde Adejumo and wife.
At the occasion, held at the Mydas Hotel and Resort, Owo, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mrs Lola Fagbemi, charged couples in the country to always put everything on God and desist from extramarital affairs which could lead to the detriment of matrimonial journey.
The event started with engagement ceremony and guests were later treated to a reception, anchored by popular comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka and foremost Nigerian dancehall star, Sound Sultan.
The couple, Teniola and Olatunde could hardly hide their joy. They expressed their gratitude to God and well-meaning Nigerians, who graced the event.
