WBA, IBF and WBO title holder Anthony Joshua has been honored by Queen Elizabeth, who conferred on him an OBE title as part of her birthday celebration.
Joshua was conferred an Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his service to boxing in the United Kingdom, as part of the 2018 honors of the Queen’s birthday.
This is the second special recognition award won by the 28-year-old boxer from the UK in the stretch of five years.
Joshua was rewarded with an MBE in 2013 after claiming a super-heavyweight Olympic gold medal at the London Games in 2012.
An OBE is a Queen’s honour given to an individual for a major local role in any activity such as business, charity or the public sector. OBE stands for Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire
