The Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Saturday visited the family of Ifeanyichukwu Okereke, a newspaper vendor shot dead last Thursday by one of his security aides.  

It was however learnt that the wife of the deceased newspaper vendor was hospitalised.

Gbajabiamila was at Okereke’s family home in Kwata village in the Madalla/Suleja area of Niger State, in company with the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Mr Benjamin Kalu, and his aides.

Members of the Association of Newspaper Distributors, Abuja, led by their President, Benjamin Obute, were also said to have visited the family.
Family sources stated that the Speaker consoled the late Okereke’s wife, Josephine, and told the family about his determination to support them and ensure that they got justice.
