President Bola Tinubu has appointed Kannywood actor Ali Nuhu managing director of the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC).
Journalist, performing artiste and communication lecturer Dr Shaibu Husseini was appointed director-general of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) as President Tinubu approved the appointment of 11 new chief executive officers (CEOs) for agencies under the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy.
The newly appointed CEOs include Tola Akerele, director-general, National Theatre, Dr. Shaibu Husseini, director-general, National Films and Video Censors Board; Obi Asika, director-general, National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC); Aisha Adamu Augie, director-general, Centre for Black and African Arts and Culture (CBAAC), and Ekpolador-Ebi Koinyan, chief conservator, National War Museum.
The others are Ahmed Sodangi, director-general, National Gallery of Art (NGA); Chaliya Shagaya, director-general, National Institute of Archeology and Museums Studies; Khaltume Bulama Gana, artistic director, National Troupe of Nigeria; Biodun Ajiboye, director-general, National Institute for Cultural Orientation; Ali Nuhu, managing-director, Nigerian Film Corporation, and Ramatu Abonbo Mohammed, director-general, National Commission for Museums and Monuments.
The statement by Mr Ngelale said Tinubu has mandated the appointees “to discharge their duties in accordance with the highest standards of professionalism, diligence and patriotism with a view to making the creative sector more vibrant and robust.”
