A mortal blow has been dealt Prince Dapo Abiodun, the CEO of Heyden Petroleum, as his first son, Olugbemiga, has died. He was in his mid-20s. Though the details of what led to the death of the 2016 graduate of the University of Essex, UK, is still sketchy, Olugbemiga, a Disc Jockey popularly known as DJ Olu, reportedly died inside his car last night.
Olugbemiga was the first of his parents’ five children. He was gangling, gregarious and had a good head on his shoulders; he was every parent’s pride and hope. His mother, Bamidele was known to think the world of him.
The ELITES gathered that Olugbemiga was already being groomed by his father to take over his business conglomerate. On his Instagram page, DJ Olu already added CEO, Heyden, to his profile. That would never be again. However, more tragic is that the businessman cum politician did not hear of the sad news of his son’s death as he was reportedly on a flight back to Nigeria from Dubai.
A close friend of music star, Davido, and official DJ of HKN Gang, this is the second time in one week that the singer would lose a close friend in virtually the same circumstance. Announcing the death on Snapchat, Davido wrote, “Olu, I swear, tonight is for you!! We killed shows back to back together for four years straight. A part of me is broken. I love you bro. God take control. Two brothers gone in four days!!!” The two silver spoon kids had been friends for ages on account of their billionaire fathers’ relationship and, later, mutual love for music.
