The father is the foundational base upon which human society is built. Whether spiritual or biological fathers, the scripture enjoins us to “honour your father and mother…” (Ephesians 6:2). If in truth we are all children before the Almighty God, then full compliance is expected of us with respect to the scripture cited above.
In the natural sense, a child who dishonours, disrespects or watches with excitement, another child rain insults, rain mockery or put up any form of improper behavior towards his father or mother, that child can best be referred to as “the child that causes shame” (Proverbs. 19:26); and such child, the scripture warns that “his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness” (Proverbs. 20:20). On the reverse, the child who stands against, condemns and confronts a stranger found making disparaging remarks or showing acts of disrespect to his father or mother, can best be described as “an arrow in the hand of a mighty man” (Psalms. 127:4).
Following this, I, Pastor Henry Amadi, on behalf of the Sons of the Prophet David Ibiyeomie, unequivocally re-state our choice, decision, respect, loyalty and unflagging commitment to the person and ministry of our father, Pastor David Ibiyeomie. Undoubtedly, Pastor David Ibiyeomie has not only demonstrated the true character of a son, by taking a strong stand in defense of his spiritual father, #BishopDavidOyedepo, who also is our grandfather in the faith.
To our father, #PastorDavidIbiyeomie, we celebrate your bravery and public condemnation of the sustained insults, mockery and calumny carried out by one Ifedayo Olarinde (a.k.a Daddy Freeze), his cohorts and sponsors against spiritual fathers in Nigeria and the body of Christ in general. Like biblical Moses, Elijah, Elisha, apostle Peter, apostle Paul; you have reminded the world that our gospel is both for salvation and for judgement. Indeed, it is one truth the world must come to grips with.
Thank you!
